Vector Marketing

Vector Marketing booths can be found on college campuses nationwide. You have probably noticed their bold flyers and signs, which pop up around the area closer to school holidays and summer breaks. The company promises that hard-working college students can earn up to $16 per hour working for VM. If this is the case, I wonder why a group of over 7,000 students has banded together to let people know that they believe the VM system is a scam?

Many of the claims against this company begin by criticizing their recruiting methods, which many claim are deceptive. The flyers and signs don't talk about what type of job students will be doing. Interested applicants are encourage to dial a phone number and participate in a phone interview.

The job itself is a position as a commissioned sales representative for Cutco kitchen knives. Who wants to attempt to sell kitchen knives on their summer vacation? Participants must make an initial investment of $145 in order to purchase a set of knives for their demonstrations. The college students that protest against the company find this particular point to be incredibly deceptive. The company, however, says that the $145 is merely a deposit and that it can be refunded after you stop working for Vector.

Students who do choose to participate are required to attend a training seminar lasting several days. The training seminar will teach you how to conduct demonstrations in people's homes, but the training time is unpaid. After training, you are encouraged to start by selling knives to your family or friends (ie. your warm market), before attempting to sell to strangers.

Some students have actually taken Vector to court, but the court orders are issued on a state by state basis. Fortunately, a few states have ordered VM to stop participating in deceptive recruiting practices and to stop promising outrageous hourly wages.

On the upside, VectorMarketing does actually have a few worthwhile opportunities for individuals who are talented and motivated. This marketing company tends to promote from within. Therefore, those who start out as sales representatives are likely to find themselves promoted to management if they are successful. Students who become successful at the sales aspect can use that experience when applying for jobs after college as well.

I've compared this business to quite a few others and I don't believe Vector Marketing is an actual scam. You will, however, need to have a knack for sales and personal presentations. These aren't necessarily things that high school graduates and new college students are interested in pursuing.

After examining and testing hundreds of money-making opportunities and work at home programs, ONLY ONE brought in a paycheck that covered all my monthly expenses. Click here to go to this website.
