Niche Marketing

At first, I didn't truly understand the power of niche marketing. It's a way of targeting a specific group of people in order to sell them a product or service you already know they're interested in. After a little research I soon realized how profitable a good niche marketing campaign can actually be.

For some reason, a huge number of people find starting an online marketing campaign to be difficult. They build their websites but then suddenly become overwhelmed with a sense of fear. They feel as though they aren't knowledgeable enough to be viewed as an expert or authority and begin to think no one will buy their products. I have a secret, though - it isn't necessary to be an authority in any given field in order to be successful!

There are tons of affiliate products available for sale, so you are bound to find one you are interested in. A friend of mine recently built his own niche marketing business by promoting a product he knew absolutely nothing about. He's agreed to let me share his story and business model so that others can benefit from his experiences.

His niche market was in the area of cat care. He owns a cat, but knows nothing else about cat care or the health of our furry friends. He started out by taking a few days to read everything he could find on the internet about the subjects. In doing this research he was also able to see that there was plenty of interest in this niche. Pet lovers all over are constantly looking for new information on how to take care of their beloved pets.

After completing his research, my friend started visiting and participating in online forums and message boards. He would answer questions people had about their pets by doing a quick search and directing them to a website with the information they needed. He was soon a highly respected member of the community and he had not yet mentioned his own business. It's important to note that he never used his real name when participating in these boards.

My friend had yet to develop a product for his niche, so he contacted an employee of the local S.P.C.A. and asked for an interview. He took the questions he had collected from the forums and started asking about abused cats. The conversation went on for hours, and my friend recorded the entire thing. He knew exactly what information people would be looking for because he had been paying attention to the online discussions. He spoke to the S.P.C.A. representative about popular cat care topics as well.

After the phone call was complete, he paid a freelancer a mere $50 to transcribe the audio version. He took the transcribed conversation and turned it into a PDF ebook to sell and a newsletter to give away.

Later on, he contacted a veterinarian who allowed him to conduct a video taped interview. Transcribing the second interview allowed him to create another ebook as well as a series of audio recordings and live videos featuring an expert in the field of cat care.

Once his product was developed he started advertising. He chose "cat care" as his keyword and promised to give his free newsletter in exchange for a name and email address. He did this by providing a "capture" page which allowed him to show some of the features of the cat care program without badgering his visitors about purchasing a product. He also promised to send a link to a free cat care video to anyone who would give their name and email address.

His advertising methods allowed him to build a valid list of interested persons before his product was even ready to launch. As a matter of fact, he told his subscribers that his product wasn't ready, which seemed to generate even more interest. Everyone wants to be the first person to get their hands on new information, and he was giving them the perfect opportunity to stay in the loop. He sent regular updates to his subscribers to let them know the status, inform the of delays, and finally to release the official launch date.

My friend's product sells for $49. In his first month, his cat care product grossed $10,000 in sales and has made no less than $5,000 per month ever since. He has obviously done very well considering he knew absolutely nothing about cat care when he got started. He can also use the email list he developed to let this same group of people know when and if he develops another new product later on down the line.

There are online businesses, such as Site Build It, that will help you build a website if you don't have the technical expertise. Aside from that, all you need to do is follow a simple formula and you can experience the same type of success:

1. Find a popular niche that people are interested in.

2. Complete your own research regarding your niche subject and develop a list of questions.

3. Interview an expert about your niche, putting your list of questions to use.

4. Build a presence on related forums by answering questions and providing information. Don't forget to use an alias instead of your real name.

5. Transcribe your interview and use it to develop your niche product.

6. Build your list. launch, your product, and then develop new products to sell later on.

Once you find success in one niche, you'll find it easier to break into new ones. I wasn't successful the first time I tried niche marketing, but now run three separate niche marketing campaigns that do very well. Finding the right niche is the key to building a lucrative income from home.

After examining and testing hundreds of money-making opportunities and work at home programs, ONLY ONE brought in a paycheck that covered all my monthly expenses. Click here to go to this website.
