Mannatech Inc was founded in the early 1990's by a group in Coppel, Texas and is currently traded on NASDAQ as a mid-cap corporation. The company is well known for developing a brand of vitamins and health products that include glyconutrients.

The company has become incredibly popular worldwide. They how have operations in the US, Japan, the UK, German, and Canada. Their main product is known as Ambrotose, but the company also sells a complete line of vitamins and supplements.

The full line of products includes a list of twenty-five nutritional supplements, three skin creams, and four weight loss aids. The company has implemented a multi level marketing campaign to sell their products.

Critics claim that, while the company does extensive research before producing products, they do not believe their research trials are conducted in a professional or valid format. Most of Mannatech's products have never been tested against a placebo. The single product that was tested showed that glyconutrients had no real benefit to the body.

Those who have taken the product would beg to differ. Supporters of Ambrotose swear that it has helped them to treat a number of diseases and conditions, including both lupus and eczema. There has not been any scientific research to back up these claims. Even though the company has been the subject of scrutiny, they have continued their research and also take part in some very notable programs. They recently launched a program geared towards helping sick children take control of their nutrient deficiencies in order to form stronger immune systems and an overall sense of well being.

The question of whether or not their products are effective isn't the only red flag associated with this company. Two of the company's main founders have sketchy personal histories. The Texas Attorney General is investigating the company to find out whether or not the company is in violation of the Deceptive Trade Practices Act.

Be careful if you are considering becoming a representative for Mannatech. Do as much research as possible and pressure your recruiter for as much information as you can. I don't recommend making any sort of financial investment unless your recruiter is willing to provide you with proof of earnings.
