Internet Marketing Conference
I love going to the mailbox and finding invitations to Internet marketing conferences. The invitations are always well designed and professional and lead me to believe that someone, somewhere, must be making a considerable amount of money. They must be, otherwise they wouldn’t be able to afford the cost of lavish invitations and newspaper ads.
The invitation itself was impressive. It was personalized with my name and a photograph of a table place setting. I was invited to bring a guest to the marketing conference, where we would each receive a complete meal and a business organizer – all completely free! The value of the seminar was said to be approximately $120.
The marketing technique used in creating this information was excellent. I felt personally invited and was hooked. Off I went to the seminar.
When deciding on a home business, you’ll find that the Internet is the outlet that provides the highest chance of success. That fact is not a secret. I am not surprised to find that those who specialize in running hotel seminars were able to find a way to turn that particular piece of information into a turnkey business opportunity. After all, why share information the average Joe can find for free when you can charge someone for it?
So there I was. I had taken the bait and went to the Internet Marketing Conference. Upon arrival, my guest and I were informed that we would have our dinner and receive our free gift after sitting through a 90-minute presentation. We were shown replicated websites and were given information on how these sites, combined with products and online stores, would be able to make us money. They promised a fun and informative presentation and did not let us down.
Unfortunately, there are tons of businesses offering this same type of opportunity. Yes, anyone can make money by selling products online, but not everyone knows how to market and advertise on the web. This is where most of these programs fall short. They’ll help you set up your Internet marketing business, but they won’t show you how to keep it from failing.
Yes, the Internet Marketing Conference showed us how to make money online; they just weren’t sharing the best ways to do so. I hate it when businesses think they can take advantage of the legitimate entrepreneurs by hyping a program and then setting these poor souls up for failure.
By the way… I did get the dinner that was promised – but it was cold!
After examining and testing hundreds of money-making opportunities and work at home programs, ONLY ONE brought in a paycheck that covered all my monthly expenses.
