Donald Trump
I'm sure you've heard of Donald Trump at least once in your life. He's a wealthy man who has experienced high levels of success in business and real estate. Trump has built a personal empire, including sky-rises, casinos, and a new television show. He's now attempting to add the titles of author and educator to his list of credentials.
Born in June of 1946, Trump was born the son of a very successful real estate investor. After Trump completed his formal education at the Wharton School he returned to his home town to work at his father's business.
Trump gained a reputation after helping to renovate the Commodore Hotel. The Commodore reopened as the Grand Hyatt. Some thought the investment was unwise, but Trump proved them wrong.
Donald's career started out very profitably. He fostered relationships with some of New York's most powerful political heads and became the frequent subject of media inquiry. He managed to become popular by attempting to take over struggling city projects for a very low cost. He later turned each project into a profitable venture.
The early 1990's were not as kind to Mr. Trump. He went through a divorce, which sadly became the center of media attention. At the same time, several of his businesses spiraled into unmanageable debt. As a result, several of his business ventures were forced to declare bankruptcy.
The casinos Trump owned were not doing well either and Trump found himself bartering and trading his way back to the top. He traded property to either eliminate or reduce his levels of debt. Some of the trades only bought him extensions on his loans.
I don't know what kind of debt a person needs to be in for a bank to believe the only possible solution is to lend more money, but Donald Trump found himself in that sort of situation. Some of his creditors realized the only chance they had of collecting their outstanding debt was to lend Donald additional monies so that he could attempt to turn his businesses around.
Trump was successful at capitalizing on his own personal popularity. He starred in his own television reality show, The Apprentice. The show became incredibly popular, allowing Trump to join the ranks of highly paid television personalities.
Donald J. Trump is turning into a household name. Products, such as bottled water or cologne, bear his name. Real estate developers recognize the value of his name as well. Being associated with Donald Trump automatically increases property values.
One of his most recent projects is the launching of Trump University. Trump University is a website dedicating to real estate and wealth development topics. Members of the website can register for online courses or pay additional fees to purchase home study courses.
Some of Donald Trump's popular publications include: The Art of Survival; Surviving at the Top; The Way to the Top: The Best Business Advice I Ever Received; The Best Golf Advice I Ever Received; The Art of the Deal; The Art of the Comeback; and more...
