Pastor John Raymond developed a work at home business opportunity known as Disciples Cross. The business model involves members getting paid to put together a Christian cross and then selling it back to the company.

To get started, a new member must pay $70, which buys him a video with instructions and the supplies to build 25 crosses. After you complete the first batch, you will order supplies based on the color cross you want to assemble next.

Unfortunately, quite a few scam operations use Christianity as a way to gain the trust of their members. It's important to research any business opportunity you come across, regardless of whether or not it claims to have a religious affiliation.

I've spoken to quite a few members and it seems as though the company has a decent reputation. As with any company, there have been a few problems. The main complaint is that the company does not always buy back the crosses members assemble. The company claims the crosses do not pass inspection and members end up losing money because they paid for the initial supplies and to ship the completed crosses back to the company.

Sadly, this type of inspection problem is a concern with most home based opportunities where members are expected to assemble products. It's extremely important to follow directions as carefully as possible in order to avoid rejections.

On the other hand, there is no stipulation stating you are required to sell the crosses back to the company. If you're ambitious, you might want to consider selling the crosses you complete on your own. You might sell them at local charity events, on eBay, or on your own website.

I don't necessarily recommend Disciples Cross as a great business opportunity if you only plan to sell the products back to the company, as you might not make as much as you expect. If you are a seasoned marketer with a plan, you have the tools necessary to make this into a profitable venture.
