Let's start out by looking at the cold hard facts. Vacations are cool. Travel agents are not. If you sign up to sell for Coastal, you will be amongst the ranks of the unpopular travel agent. Travel agents have been replaced by the simplicity of the internet and it is rare that an agent will be able to find a client a better deal than what he or she could find online. If a travel agent is lucky enough to make a sale, it is unlikely that the customer will return to book his or her next vacation. This company does not really sell vacation packages. They do sell memberships to their multi-level marketing (MLM) program. You can't purchase a vacation, but you can make money by signing others up to sell memberships to the Coastal Vacations program. Before you know it, you're trapped in a 2-up system that isn't making you any money.

Most multi-level marketing programs have a system in place that allows money to flow up to sponsors at different levels. With a 2-up program, 100% of the money you make from your first two sales will go directly to your sponsor. Those first two clients will likely be the easiest two you receive, and you will feel like your work was wasted when you realize you won't make any money at all from the sales.

Your only hope of making any money is to now help your first two clients find their own first prospects so that you can earn the money from their sales. Your life will turn into a vicious cycle - finding a new prospect and helping him find his first two clients.

You can't advance or earn a promotion within the company unless you attend their seminars. You are required to attend and must pay to get there. The initial investment to join Coastal Vacations is approximately $1,200 and the corporate seminars you must attend will cost an average of $3,000 to $12,000 depending on how high up on the food chain you reside.

I took some time to review the Coastal Vacations program and decided there would be absolutely no benefit to joining, aside from possibly getting some great travel deals for my own family. You'll need to develop a strong marketing list or a technique for finding new and interesting individuals, regardless of what internet business you choose to participate in. If you can follow instructions, you can build a list, but it'll be useless if you don't have a product that will draw repeat business.

Like I said before, the travel industry isn't unique. Everyone is trying to sell the same vacations. You're better off looking for a unique niche product that no one else is selling. It took a lot of research, but I was able to find a product that guaranteed my success.
