Bob Proctor

Bob Proctor, like so many others, struggled through a life of poverty before turning it around and becoming successful. He started by working a series of jobs that got him nowhere until his dream of working for his heroes, Earl Nightingale and Lloyd Conant, came true. He moved to Chicago to work for their company, working his way up the corporate ladder until he became the Vice President of Sales.

Working for Earl Nightingale and Lloyd Conant gave Proctor the skills he needed to start his own company. Specializing in sales training, Bob developed a series of seminars and custom sales courses designed to help new salespersons become successful. He worked with big name companies, such as Prudential Insurance and Re/max for over 20 years and trained tens of thousands of salespersons.

While I don't doubt that Bob was able to become a success on his own, I do wonder whether or not the information he gives salespersons in his seminars is going to help them do the same. The companies Bob has worked with swear that his seminars have transformed their staff, but his personal training leaves a lot to be desired. It appears as though his training is made up of a series of theories without any real instruction on the steps to take to increase sales or become successful.

Proctor has marketed his programs with a series of infomercials that would lead the viewer to believe he plans to teach them a wealth building technique. Instead, he talks about self-improvement and attitude adjustments. Some people respond well to approaches such as his, but if I'm going to pay to hear a wealthy man tell me how he got wealthy I want to hear the details. Forget motivational speeches!

Bob Proctor's materials are great movitational resources, but are not really useful for a person looking for concrete money making information. His program, most likely, isn't what you really need.
